Rare late 16th to early 17th century enamelled gold reliquary cross pendant. Spanish or possibly German, c 1580-1600.

Quite heavy-weight weighing over 44g and monochrome enamelled entirely, this has six windows, each covered with a rock-crystal cabochon revealing a holy relic. The enclosure has been riveted shut and will remain so. There are some slight losses to the enamel but only commensurate with age
