A very rare, 18th century enamelled gold posy ring. English c 1750

The inscription on this ring, which sets it apart from many other posy rings, does not read in honour of God or faith, but is the much more unusually personal and romantic statement, “MY LOVE IS PURE”.

The outside of the ring is decorated with beautifully green enamelled rococo scrolls and flowers.

A similar ring with memorial inscription is in the British Museum
